However, it did not come with the screws to attach it, if you can believe that? That's why only 4 stars. I had to go to hardware store to get the screws, luckily they had a size that would work. Why would anyone ever sell or ship these without the screws????????????? They snap open nicely... and being as I mounted mine on the outside of the case, I simply vacuum then from the outside, I do not even need to open them up. No screws seriously?

The grill cover snaps over the "base grill" and sandwiches the washable filter media between the 2 grills.
The base grill is mounted to the case/enclosure with #10 flathead screws (or 5mm metric). I my application one grill was Mounted as an "outlet" dust guard which were mounted with 10-24UNC flathead screws with flat washer, star lock washer and hex nut to the cabinet. And the other filter was an inlet filter for a fan, which was attached through the enclosure to fan case with coarse sheet metal screws.
Becarful when removing the retaining grill, as not to break it. And carefully wash and blot dry the filter media.
Filter media can be purchased separately to discard the old filter and replace, if you do not want to wash the filter.
