4.0 out of 5 stars A capable and potentially powerful input device, October 28, 2005

Just got the Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard yesterday, and overall I'm impressed by the flexibility and potential it offers. However, don't let the attractive design of the keyboard and the sweet looking LCD screen you see in the pictures fool you. The real draw of the G15 can all be found on the left side of the keyboard.

The best feature of this keyboard really isn't the LCD display, but its capability to create keyboard macros. The G15 features 18 additional "G" keys on the left hand side of the keyboard, which are completely customizable to playback complicated sequences of keystrokes (i.e. macros) for whatever game or Windows application you might have. These 18 keys can each be reassigned under three different "M" keyboard maps, giving you the capability to assign 3 different macros on one G key. Think of these keys as a hardware version of Keyboard Express built into your keyboard--only the macros are "hard-wired" to specific applications, i.e., the macros only work... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for gaming - a fantastic productivity tool, November 9, 2005

I have been using a Gateway AnyKey keyboard for years and have resisted changing because of the programmable features built into that keyboard. My keyboard was nearly dead and I was not looking forward to replacing it with one without its built-in programmable keys. A friend pointed me to this keyboard and I decided to give it a try. It is spectacular. I have no idea if it works well for gaming, but as a productivity tool, the on-the-fly recording of macros is a huge time saver especially for software developers. I like the touch of the keys and the extras like volume and media control work great. This keyboard will pay for itself in productivity gains in a day or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars best keyboard ever, November 8, 2005
This review is from: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (Personal Computers)
this is really the best keyboard ever. it replaces all the zboards. you might like the layout of the zboards better, but if you don't care, then this is THE budget buy for you. the 18 G keys are fully custumizable with most games as old as warcraft 3 and mabye even some older games. the g keys also have different "m" keys. the m keys are for different users, so if you have a brother that likes to customize the buttons differently but for the same game, he can do it his way on m2 while your options are on m1. so really, you have 54 G keys (18x3). and the buttons change by application. so if your playing battlefield 2, the G keys set to what you put for battlefield 2, so when you go back to your desktop, the g keys change to the shortcuts you put for it. this completely replaces zboards. why spend 100-200 dollars for a couple different zboards when you can spend 60-70 dollars on this. the lcd screen also works for media players (itunes, windows media player, etc). it tells you what song...
