Love the HDMI output and hooked it up straight into a 55 inch TV and what a picture. All the people who whine and complain about Windows 8 must not have a lick of common sense. My old system was Windows XP and this system will be even easier to use than that. Yeah it might take a little getting used to but if you can work your way around a smartphone this will be easy also. Everything loads so unbelievably fast it's ridiculous even videos and movies. I have the NBA League Pass and with XP could not sit there and watch a game without freezing and skipping but with this I can put 4 games on at the same time and it's like watching a live game on TV. The App Store is nowhere near the Android Market like on smartphones but hopefully it will get there but for now there are a fair amount of apps that you can put on it. And with the memory of this bad boy you won't have to worry about controlling how many apps you download. For those who are... Read more

PROs: price, features, windows starts fast, feels solidly made, light weight
CONs: no wi-fi, no USB 3.0 (but what can I really expect for the price)
Watch out for the faulty bad reviews because they don't like Windows 8. I'm rating the computer. A bad Windows review can be placed on the Windows software.

Having used windows xp saying this is a little different would be an understatement. I am enjoying the experience though. Learning something new every day. I had to get some help getting my wireless printer hooked up because windows8 was not compatible. The manufacturer of the printer was able to help and everything was up and running in no time.
I would not hesitate in recommending Gateway. I spoke to an AT&T service rep. and he said that he had 2 computers in his house. His was an HP and his wife had a Gateway. They both liked the Gateway better saying since acer and Gateway merged that Gateway's Quality was much better. The Gateway SX2865 Desktop is an excellent computer and more than I expected and enjoying it very much.
