The vital specs: it's 18" long, 1 �" wide at its most narrow and 2 �" wide at its widest point (it's straight on one side and has a slight convex, smile-shaped curve on the other). It's overall �" thick, with the hard plastic base making up �" of that and the gel portion making up the remaining �". It's made in Taiwan.
It weighs in at almost exactly one pound. It stays in place very nicely, as 3M has put a stickum-kind of material on the base that keeps it from moving. My first concern was for this kind of semi-adhesive surface to pick up dirt and dust, but more than a week of use did not show this fault.
The rest contact surface is good, a smooth plastic cover (of indeterminate thickness) over the gel. Compared to some of the more popular wrist rests, with their neoprene or synthetic cloth over the gel (striking me as repurposing unsold wetsuits), this seems a little better, in that it remains smooth, and there is no cloth to come loose from the underlying... This one is very pretty--that's why I chose it. The only little thing (and it is a little thing) is that its cold. When my office temperature drops at night and I come in first thing in the morning, that silly little wrist rest is chilly. Silly, I know. I had a fabric covered one previously--that got stained over time but was more comfortable.
